What are Message Templates?
Message Templates allow you to send pre-written messages to your customers, in order to save you time when updating them on their service, providing instructions, or sharing disclaimers and shop policies.
Build a Message Template
Shopmonkey provides a number of templates to get you started. You can customize the existing templates or create one of your own!
Select the Settings icon in the bottom left corner of your screen.
Select Message Templates under the Settings section on the left-hand side.
Duplicate a Message Template
Find the template you’d like to make changes to from the list on the right.
Select the copy icon to create a duplicate copy of a message template. Give your copy a new name.
Edit a Message Template
Make changes to the template by typing directly into the preview, adding any Placeholders you see fit.
Placeholders
When you include placeholders in your message templates, these placeholders will be replaced with the real data when sent to a customer. Placeholder options include data from the following categories: Customer, Shop, Appointment, Order, and Vehicle.
Customer: Customer Address, First Name, Last Name
Shop: Shop Address, Shop Email, Shop Name, Shop Phone, Shop Website
Appointment: Appt Name, Appt End Date, Appt Start Date, Appt End Time, Appt Start Time
Order: Order Balance, Order Total, Order Name, Order #
Vehicle: VIN, YMM (Year/Make/Model), License Plate, Make, Model, Unit #, Year
Vessels (if applicable to your shop): Vessel Length, VIN/HIN
