Communicate efficiently with customers by sending messages and file attachments through email or SMS/text messaging

Messages from your shop can be sent to customers via email or SMS.

Please Note: In order to communicate with your customers via SMS, a Shopmonkey Messaging Number is required. Check out How do I register an SMS number for my shop? to learn more.


Send a Message

From Any Page

Message a customer from any page in Shopmonkey by selecting the message icon in the top right corner.

Select a recent conversation from the list to continue or select the Pencil icon to search by name or phone number to select the customer you’d like to message.

Messages can be sent via email or SMS. The message will default to the customer’s preferred contact method. Select the contact method button in the bottom left corner of the message to change the send method.

Please Note: If the customer only has one contact method on file (e.g. only phone number), that will be the only method available to send. Select Edit Contact Info to add a customer contact method. Keep in mind, SMS messages can only be sent to the customer’s primary phone number.

Select the Attachment icon to add files to your message.

Select the Message Templates icon to search and select a template. Make any changes needed to the template. Check out our help article Message Templates to learn more.

When you’re ready to send your message, select Send. All messages sent to customers will be saved for easy record-keeping.

Within an Estimate

Message a customer from their estimate by selecting Message at the top of the estimate.
