Inspections are checklists for digital vehicle inspections. You can use them as standard check-in/check-out inspections to make sure your customer’s vehicle is documented from both entry and exit.
Create an Inspection
From within an estimate, select the Inspections tab.
Select + New Inspection to create a new inspection. After you create inspection templates, you will also have the option to select a previously created inspection template here.
Pro-Tip: Save commonly used inspections as templates to save time on future inspections. Check out Inspection Templates to learn more.
Perform an Inspection
Add a title to the inspection and each inspection item. Name each item, set the status color, and attach videos, photos, notes, and recommendations to each item.
Select the + Add Item button to add additional inspection items.
Inspection Statuses
Use inspection statuses to inform your shop and customers of the status of each inspection item.
Passed (green checkmark): Inspection item passed
Needs Attention (yellow exclamation mark): Inspection item needs attention before being marked passed or failed
Failed (red x): Inspection item failed
N/A (grey): Inspection item not applicable to this vehicle or work order
Inspection Filters
After performing the inspection and selecting a status for each item, filter and view the inspection by status. Select All Items to view all inspection items at once.
Add Images and Video
Upload images, videos, and PDFs to each inspection item. Adding images and videos is a great way to document vehicle status to avoid misunderstandings with customers after the services are performed.
Select the image button to choose a file to upload. Compatible file types include jpeg, png, PDF, and mp4, limited to a file size of 50.0 MB.
Quick Notes
Type in a note or select the Quick Notes icon to add a saved quick note to the inspection item.
After adding a Quick Note to the inspection item, any edits made to the text will only change this specific inspection note. It will not change the saved Quick Note for future use.
Pro-Tip: Save inspection Quick Notes to add to future inspections. Check out Manage Inspection Quick Notes to learn more.
Mark Inspections Complete
Select the Complete button to mark the inspection as complete. This will inform everyone in your shop that the inspection has been completed.
Inspection History
To view all inspection history, hover over the Information icon at the top of the inspection. Inspection dates for inspection creation, performance, and completion will be displayed, as well as the shop user who performed each of these tasks.
