Note: the following also applies to the creation/removal of Admin and Service Writer user types.
How to add a new technician
Navigate to the Users page via Settings > Users.
Click the Add New User button:
Enter the technician's First Name, Last Name, and Email, as well as any other optional information you'd like. Click the User Type drop-down, and click Technician:
Once the User Type is selected, the menu will expand to show the user's Permissions. Make any changes to the default toggle settings if desired, then click Save:
Alternatively, if you click on a labor line item from within an order, you can add a new technician by clicking the Select Technician drop-down menu, and clicking Add New:
How to remove a technician
Note: this functionality is only allowed by the primary account administrator.
To remove a technician from your shop so they no longer have access to login:
Navigate to Settings > Users.
Click on a technician, and at the bottom of the user's menu, click the red Archive text:
Confirm the deletion by clicking the Archive button:
An archived user is hidden from the Users page, and their login access is revoked, but they will remain associated to any past estimates, time sheets, etc. If you need this user reinstated for any reason, contact Shopmonkey support.
