Please Note: This help article is for the 2.0 version of Shopmonkey for Techs iOS mobile app. You can visit the App Store to download on your compatible device. A Shopmonkey 2.0 subscription is required to use this app.

Using Face ID to log in to Shopmonkey is currently not available for Android devices.

How do I enable Face ID to log in to my app?

  1. Update your Shopmonkey for Techs 2.0 Mobile App to the most recent version.

  2. Log in using the username you would like Face ID to work for

  3. Upon successful login, you will see an announcement allowing you to enable Face ID. You have two options:

    1. Enable from settings now

    2. Set up in your settings later

If you dismissed the announcement, simply follow these steps to enable Face ID:

  1. Navigate to Shopmonkey app settings

  2. Toggle on Face ID/Scan

  3. Upon your next login, you’ll see Face ID as a login option

Do I need to enable Face ID on each device I use?

Yes. Face ID will need to be set up in Shopmonkey on each device you’d like to use it on.

I don’t have Face ID/Scan set up on my device yet. Can I still enable Face ID for Shopmonkey?

You will need to complete your device setup before setting up Face ID/Scan for Shopmonkey for Techs 2.0. Enabling/allowing Face ID for your device will most likely be found in your device system settings.

I log in to more than one username on my device. Can I set up Face ID/Scan for more than one username?

Face ID/Scan can only be turned on for one username per device at a time. Follow the example below to learn more about how this works.

Example

Sam logs in with sam@email and enables Face ID through the announcement. At their next login, Sam can choose to log in with Face ID. Face ID/Scan will run successfully and log them in as sam@email.

If Sam needs to log in with a different username, othersam@email, they will need to use a login method other than Face ID to log in as othersam@email.

How do I change which username Face ID is enabled for?

  1. Manually log in with the new desired username

  2. Navigate to the Shopmonkey for Techs 2.0 Mobile App settings

  3. Turn off Face ID/Scan toggle, agree to disable, and turn toggle back on

  4. Upon next login, Face ID/Scan will be available for the new username, and not the previous one.

What if my scan isn't successful the first time?

Face ID/Scan will give an option to scan a second time. If the scan is still unsuccessful, there will be an option to tap cancel. Select Sign in with Face ID to start the process all over again.

Please Note: We do not currently support the option to use a device PIN to bypass Face ID/Scan.
