Enabling repair orders in your shop will add a repair order status between the estimate and invoice statuses. Create a column on your Workflow Page to convert items to a repair order.
Enable Repair Orders in Your Shop
Select the Settings icon in the bottom left corner of your screen.
Select General Settings under the Settings section on the left-hand side.
In the Order Settings section, toggle on Enable Repair Orders. This will add the Repair Order status option in your shop between the estimate and invoice statuses.
Repair Orders in Your Workflow
Similar to converting an estimate to an invoice, you can now convert estimates to repair orders before invoicing.
Choose which column on your Workflow page to associate with the repair order status (e.g. In Progress). When you move an estimate to that Workflow column, the estimate will automatically change to a Repair Order status.
Select the … ellipsis on the repair order column that you chose. Toggle on Convert to Repair Order. Now that this is toggled on, all estimates moved to this workflow column/category will be converted to a repair order.
Please Note: If you have Order Checklist items enabled for repair orders in your shop, you will have to confirm the checklist items before the estimate is converted into a repair order. Check out our help article Order Checklist to learn more.
Disable Repair Orders in Your Shop
To disable the repair order status in your shop, toggle off Enable Repair Orders on the Order Settings section of your general settings.
Please Note: Once disabled, you will no longer be able to use the repair order status. Existing repair orders will not be affected. Changes will only occur after saving settings.
