Why verify?
Shopmonkey requests business verification information during the 2.0 update process to help us set up your unique shop experience. We require verification information about your business to unlock game-changing messaging capabilities and financial protections.
Information is required to get your business a dedicated number for SMS correspondence to meet carrier regulations. To offer dedicated numbers for your shop, we are required to register your company as a brand with TCR (The Campaign Registry). Certain information is required to verify that you are a legitimate shop with all carriers to ensure that your messages are delivered to your customers.
Business Verification Process
Verify your business to ensure that your shop has the best experience possible. This information must be filled out by an owner of the business.
You'll need:
Government Tax ID Number
Legal Business Name
Business Type
Unlock Messaging Number
Verify your business and unlock your Messaging number with some key information.
You’ll need:
Employer Identification Number (EIN)
Business Industry
Business Specialization
Verify your registered business address.
Provide a few more business details:

Don’t have a professional website? We will accept your business’ primary social media page (e.g. your shop’s Facebook, Yelp, etc.)
Business Email
Business Phone Number
Review your business information. If everything looks correct, select Agree & Submit. Hang tight while Shopmonkey verifies your business information.
Once verified, you will be able to select a messaging number for your shop. Search by area code to find a number with an area code local to you, or select a phone number from the list. Select Confirm & Continue.
Enable Shopmonkey Payments
Select Get Started to enable Shopmonkey Payments.
You’ll need:
Bank Account Number
Routing Number
Estimated Average Ticket volume in dollars
Estimated Monthly Card Volume in dollars
Estimated Date of Incorporation
Confirm the estimated Date of Incorporation of your business.
Add bank account information for payouts. Earnings made through Shopmonkey Payments will be sent to this account.
Provide details on estimated average ticket volume, estimated monthly card volume, and payment practices. This information helps us protect your business against unusual or fraudulent transactions.
Review your information. If everything looks correct, select Agree & Submit.
Verify Ownership of the Business
Select Get Started to verify ownership of the business and finish enabling Shopmonkey Payments.
You’ll need:
National ID Number (SSN, SIN, etc.)
Additional Owner(s) Name & Email
Verify your personal information.
Review your information. If everything looks correct, select Agree & Submit. Hang tight while Shopmonkey verifies your business information.
Once verified, Shopmonkey Payments will be enabled in your shop.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I resolve these common issues?
I can’t get beyond the business information screen.
Check that your EIN is entered correctly.
Make sure that you are using your legal business name versus a “doing business as” (DBA) name.
I’m not able to click “Continue” to move to the next screen.
Ensure that you have completed all required fields accurately.
If you are using a browser-based form completion tool, try entering information in the fields manually.
How will I know my validation was accepted?
If the owner information is present at the time of your application and you have input the information correctly, you will be verified instantly!
What if my verification gets denied?
You will receive an error notification in your 2.0 dashboard indicating the validation error as seen in the example below. You will also receive an email from our team, inviting you to schedule a call with us to review the information and give you a hand. We will make every effort to get your information and accounts verified as quickly as possible. In most cases, the information provided simply needs to be updated.
