Pricing matrices enable you to automatically set your parts markup and margin percentages by cost ranges, so you can maximize your profit while saving time.
The pricing matrix calculates the retail price of an item by taking the cost of an item, and then marking up or adding margin (whichever approach you prefer) based on your defined matrix ranges.
Creating a Pricing Matrix
To add a new pricing matrix, navigate to the Pricing Matrix page via
Settings > Pricing Matrix and click the New Matrix button. A new matrix will populate the Pricing Matrix page, where you can edit the matrix's title, set it to your default matrix, and either add, edit, or remove price ranges. Click on a figure to edit the Cost, Markup, or Margin. Export or delete a matrix with the buttons in the top right corner.
Change your Default Matrix at any time by choosing from a list of your saved matrices:
Any new part or saved inventory part you add to an estimate or canned service after selecting a Default Matrix will have that pricing matrix applied.
Note: any part within a canned service that was created prior to changing your Default Matrix will not update to the new default. Make sure to update and save your canned service parts' Pricing Matrix as needed.
Utilizing a Pricing Matrix on a service
From within an estimate, you can click on any part line item to verify and edit which Pricing Matrix is applied to that part:
Note: any update made to a Pricing Matrix will not update any parts already included in a service. If you click on a part in a service and see the prompt "The matrix has been updated", you can click on the Update to latest text to update the pricing:
Utilizing a Pricing Matrix on a customer or fleet
You can set a unique pricing matrix for each customer or fleet to override your default setting. Adding the customer to an estimate will automatically apply their pricing matrix. Their pricing matrix will override any other pricing matrices.
To give a customer a pricing matrix override, navigate to Lists > Customers. Then click on the customer's:
... ellipsis (more actions) button to the far-right of the screen
click Edit. Click Show More
turn the pricing matrix override toggle on, select the desired Pricing Matrix, then click Save:
You can also access a customer's pricing matrix override toggle from the customer's page (clicking on a customer from the Lists > Customers page), by clicking on a customer from within an order, and when creating a new customer.
Pricing matrix overrides for fleets are enabled similarly to how they are for customers. To view the Fleet List, navigate to Lists > Fleets. You can edit a fleet's pricing matrix override settings from the Fleet List, from any fleet's page, or when adding a new fleet.
